Pond Blog
I just launched https://billhourly.work It’s completely vibe coded on cursor using NextJS and tailwind. I went full trend hopper and did the NextJS Tailwind ShadCN Supabase combo and I came out with an actual working app. I’ve been creating a few other things locally, but up until now I haven’t gotten anything deployed with a working database and user authentication. A great learning experience for me even if I didn’t write any code (emoji laugher) The purpose of the app is mainly for me to use personally so I can acurately track my work hours as I move into a more contractor style role for the immediate future. Check it out and say hello to Mr. Bill Hourly.
I have officially joined the Titus One team working as an independent contractor in a Marketing Specialist role. I will absolutely be learning a lot of new skills, and stepping out of my comfort zone a lil bit. I have worked with Titus One for a couple years now on the Buckeye Marine account, and now they are kind enough to give me a shot in their agency. (For a role I’m slightly under qualified for!) I’ll be independent so I’m responsible for doing my own billing, tracking hours, taxes and all that freelancer type of stuff. Buckeye Marine is not entirely out of the picture though. Because of the flexible nature of the contrator role, I will most likely be working with Buckeye project by project billing them the same way I am for Titus. I do value my freedom, and taking charge of my calendar and using my time wisely can net me a lot of quality time to continue to develop my apps. We must earn many dollars.
A short while ago I applied for a a role as a social media coordinator for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry for the Fishing and Wildlife sector. It genuinely sounds like the perfect job for me to progress into a higher paying position in the marketing world.
In the next weeks to come I will know if they showed intrest in my application. Just visualizing it happening and imagining my interview… Ministry, call me.
Little more than a year later and I’m back editing my website… I have been occupied at Buckeye Marine for almost 2 years as a Marketing Coordinator. Been really building up my skills with social media, newsletters, graphics, and ads (primarily Facebook Ads…)
Felt inspired to add more content to my personal site since I am feeling more open to future opportunities outside the dealership.
The portfolio page will bee updated with highlights of my work during my time at Buckeye.
Spring thaw. Plans on making a lot more Ravenswood promo videos this season. Aman always been the blueprint. Things are also picking up at the dealership. Boating szn approaching
Returning to my site. developing a portfolio section after a couple of influential conversations. The boat dealership I work at has been keeping me occupied since July. Tomorrow is the equinox. we made it through the winter and I’m psyched to start hearing the frogs again.
Recently got hired at a bar in town. Lots of new faces. Also just got hired at the boat dealership in town for a year to do marketing work with them. Suddenly getting busy. Despite work I’ll still keep my personal projects alive. Need that creative inspiration.
The direction for my easter egg is becoming more realized. It’s a lot of fun to work on, on the side. Great creeative exercise. I also downloaded Aseprite… Has the pixel art has reached the next level!? (I might even have to re-work this little pond…)
I stepped away from the website for a little while, but I just recently produced some music for the site that I think is just great. It will be a part of my easter eggs which are not officially hosted yet. More music will come to the site…
I decided to code something really cool into the site. You will have to find it. I’ll refer to it as the easter egg. It’s a lot more effort to code than I thought but I HAVE to make it. It’s just too cool. Not mobile friendly at all but well worth exploring on desktop
I figured out how to display the current date with JS and now I am tackling the “free downloads” page. I’ll have to put some thought into what kind of freebies I want to list on my site. At the moment I’m having fun with some creative page ideas that users can interact with.
Happy with the blog page for now. This is part where I write the important part of the site. About page is next. Perhaps I just combine my front page into an “about.” I also want to do something creative for the “nice links” page and the “free downloads” page.
Ok, I roughly animated something that resembles a pond. (or puddle..) It has decent charm and adds a little something to the blog page. I wonder what else it needs? More entries? edit: fire flies, clearly…
Building this blog along with the rest of this site. Looking to code a pond on this page. Interactive elements
